April 22, 2026 – As Love Your Centre Month has progressed, we\u2019ve talked about families, like birds, building a nest\u2014a place of care, comfort, and belonging. We\u2019ve also compared BrightStart Caledon\u2019s programs and supports to strong branches, holding those nests and giving families a place to land, learn, and grow.<\/p>\n
Now, let\u2019s think about something else we see in nature: how birds sing to communicate, to connect, and to signal safety and belonging.<\/p>\n
In our community, families do the same.<\/p>\n
They share their stories with one another and with those around them. They speak of new friendships, of feeling welcomed, and of finding support when it\u2019s needed most. For nearly 40 years, these \u201csongs\u201d from BrightStart Caledon families have come together as a chorus that reflects who we are: a place of connection, learning, support, and growth.<\/p>\n
The impact is best told by those who live it. Young parents like Jyoti, whose story shared that BrightStart Caledon’s staff encoraged, advised and guided her in many areas over two and a half years of attending programs and drop in family time. Her \u00ab\u00a0song\u00a0\u00bb noted that BrightStart Caledon staff helped her develop a clear vision of where her parenting journey with her son was headed. Jyoti also shared her excitement when around <\/span><\/span>30 families in her area got to know each other and built friendships in the community. Meeting at the \u00ab\u00a0Centre,\u00a0\u00bb these parent and their children built friendships during summer evenings in a nearby park, created supportive social media communities where they shared milestones and lessons learned. <\/span>All thanks to a collective effort of a BrightStart Caledon staff team who helped birht and build a huge community of trust.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This is just one personal story that shares how our organization helped a young family connect, learn, and grow and how that experience became part of our BrightStart Caledon \u201csong.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n We are always grateful when families share their stories.
