The Environmental Health Policy has been established by the Caledon Parent-Child Centre to endeavour to prevent the spread of illness among the staff and the participants of the Centre.
The Caledon Parent-Child Centre Code of Conduct states:
βTo ensure the safety and good health of all of our children, sick children are not to be brought into the Centre. Staff members reserve the right to request that a child be taken out of the Centre if the child is ill.β
The CPCC requests that you stay home if you or your child exhibit any of the signs and symptoms listed below. You should also contact your family doctor or seek medical attention if you or your child have not been diagnosed, or symptoms persist or worsen. This policy is not intended as a diagnosis tool.
Signs and Symptoms of Communicable Diseases
The following can be signs of communicable disease:
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Unusual behaviour, irritability
- Runny nose (Green, yellow or coloured mucous)
- Cough (Productive of mucous or croupy, choking cough)
- Vomiting/Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Skin rashes or itching
- Red, itchy eyes with a pus-like discharge
When can I and/or my child return to the Centre?
Return times vary for each disease, your doctor or medical attention provider will let you know the appropriate time to return to normal activities.
